Demilitarised Goddesses 비무장 여신

12th Seoul Mediacity Biennale

Demilitarized Goddesses is a gathering of women across generations—artists, workers, mothers, and daughters—who came together to speak of things rarely said at home. Through film, conversation, and song, the event opened space for stories often left unspoken: of strength worn quietly, of wounds carried silently, and of care that has long gone unacknowledged. Revisiting artist Youngjoo Cho’s collaborative dance-film project with DMZ tour guides and port workers, the event became a tender site of recognition, where younger women listened deeply to the lives and labours of those who came before them.
